The Rice Museum was opened in May 1970 as part of the South Carolina Tricentennial. Over more than half a century we have preserved and protected our local history, art, and culture. In 2021 the Rice Museum won the S.C. Governor's Award in the Humanities. This award acknowledges our 50+ years of promoting a greater understanding of our history and culture. Your contribution helps us continue our goal of being one of the most active museums in the Southeast.
