VIDA MILLER

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
THE RICE MUSEUM

Meet our Board Chairman, Vida Miller

Vida has advocated for the Rice Museum and the local art community for over twenty-five years. As a former member of the SC General Assembly, she secured state funding for the installation of the Brown’s Ferry Vessel, the oldest wooden boat in America.

Most recently, the prestigious SC Arts Foundation elected her as Board Member. Before this, she served on the SC Arts Alliance Board. Both entities work in partnership with the SC Art Commission to financially support and promote the arts in South Carolina.

She owned and operated the Gray Man Gallery for 42 years and founded the Waccamaw Neck Arts Alliance 5 years ago with over sixty local artists as members. The Rice Museum will host this group's 4th Annual Art Show on November 2023.

As an award-winning artist, she has actively participated in numerous local and regional art events and exhibits during her career.
